Position: Radiologist

Job Summary:

VitalRay Health Solutions is seeking to hire a Radiologist who will be responsible for executing and interpreting medical images to aid the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CT), Ultrasound and X-Ray.
  2. Document the performance, interpretation, or outcomes of all exams performed.
  3. Evaluate medical information to determine patients’ risk factors, such as allergies to contrast agents, or to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
  4. Instruct radiologic staff in desired techniques, positions, or projections.
  5. Obtain patients’ histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated Reports, or by communicating with referring doctors.
  6. Prepare comprehensive interpretive Reports of findings of all the procedures performed.
  7. Accurately analyze images and adjusts factors if an image needs to be repeated.
  8. Interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems.
  9. Maintain and improve the radiology department’s quality assurance and turn-around-time standards.
  10. Serve as an offsite tele-radiologist when needed.
  11. Adheres to and promotes compliance with radiation safety and protection policy and associated codes of practice, and takes appropriate action where non-compliance is evident.
  12. Ensure the policies and procedures of the Company are applied and adhered to.
  13. Ensure the effective and economic use of resources and report all occurrences of defects, which may affect the health and safety of patients and staff.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Masters Degree in Radiology.
  • Specialist recognition in Radiology.
  • Must be registered and licensed with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
  • Valid annual retention certificate.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to manage interactions with varied personalities.
  • Compassionate and sensitive to the needs of the patients.

Position: Sonographer

Location: Nairobi

Job Summary:

VitalRay Health Solutions is seeking to hire a Sonographer who will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging services in the speciality of Ultrasound. The desired candidate should be able to operate a variety of equipment to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Explain Ultrasound procedures to the patients and answer any questions that they may have.
  2. Perform all requested Ultrasound examinations as required, ensuring to capture images of high quality.
  3. Prepare Ultrasound Reports according to established procedures.
  4. Organize and coordinate work schedule with fellow teammates to ensure workload coverage.
  5. Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the Ultrasound department.
  6. Maintain high standards of customer service to our clients.
  7. Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided.
  8. Work with Radiologists and/or Pathologists to schedule and assist in special procedures such as biopsies and ascitic tapping.
  9. Address problems of patient care as they arise and escalate as necessary to appropriately resolve the problems.
  10. Maintain Ultrasound equipment and work area and maintain adequate supplies.
  11. Report equipment failures to the supervisor or appropriate staff member.
  12. Ensure that patient confidentiality is respected and that the dignity of the patient is assured and maintained at all times having regard to the Mission, Philosophy and Ethical Code of the Company.
  13. Assist in the development of clinical protocols, ensuring that they are reviewed periodically in accordance with the needs of the service.

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College.
  • Higher National Diploma in Ultrasound.
  • At least 1-year work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Compassionate and sensitive to the needs of the patients.
  • Exposure to hospital management systems and good computer skills are key essentials for the job.
